A Day at the Ballpark

How Far We Traveled

Buckhorn Tavern is located about 74 miles from Albuquerque Baseball Park, making it an easy and worthwhile trip for a day of fun and excitement.

A Day at the Ballpark: Baseball Fun with Morgen

There’s something truly special about spending a day at the ballpark—the energy of the crowd, the crack of the bat, and the aroma of freshly grilled hot dogs. Recently, Morgen, Ernie, and I had the pleasure of attending a baseball game, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience.

A huge thank you to Sysco Foods for hosting us and making this special day possible. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to enjoy such an amazing experience together!

The Perfect Day for a Game

The weather couldn’t have been better. A bright blue sky stretched overhead, with just enough of a breeze to keep us cool in the stands. Morgen’s excitement was contagious from the moment we arrived, decked out in our team’s colors and ready to cheer on the players.

The Sights and Sounds of the Ballpark

Walking into the stadium, we were immediately immersed in the lively atmosphere. Vendors called out with offers of snacks and souvenirs, while fans buzzed with anticipation for the first pitch.

Once we found our seats, we settled in with classic ballpark snacks: a hot dog for Morgen and a bag of peanuts for Ernie. The view was perfect, giving us a clear line of sight to home plate and the outfield.

Highlights of the Game

One of Morgen’s favorite parts was singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the seventh-inning stretch. The camaraderie of the crowd made it a memorable moment, and Morgen’s enthusiastic singing brought a smile to everyone around us.

Why Baseball Games Are a Must-Do

Attending a baseball game is about more than just the sport—it’s about creating memories, connecting with your community, and enjoying quality time with loved ones. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to the game, the ballpark offers something for everyone.

Tips for Your Next Game

If you’re planning to take your family to a baseball game, here are a few tips:

  • Arrive Early: This gives you time to explore the stadium and find your seats without feeling rushed.

  • Bring Sunscreen: Even with a hat, you’ll want to protect yourself from the sun.

  • Pack Snacks: Some stadiums allow you to bring your own food, so check their policy beforehand. We walked in with unopened bottles of water.

  • Get Involved: Cheer, sing, and enjoy the spirit of the game—it’s all part of the fun!

  • Clear Bag: All bags are subject to search. Each fan may carry one bag of any size that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC, or a clear plastic freezer bag. Yes, a Ziploc bag is perfectly fine.

  • If you do sit on the lawn, Orbit’s Kid Zone is right behind you. This area does require separate tickets to be purchased at the Fun Zone ticket booth.

Final Thoughts

It’s not just about watching a game; it’s about the laughter, the excitement, and the simple joy of being together. Whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, a baseball game is always a home run for family fun.
